(czwartek) o godzinie 17:30 porozmawiamy o jednym z języków internetu. Poniżej zamieszczamy abstrakt wystąpienia.

DoggoLingo is an internet-based variety of English used primarily in online discussions about animals, especially dogs, and is characterized by deliberate deviations from standard morphosyntactic norms. Although often treated as a humorous or playful register, DoggoLingo displays a range of recurring morphological and syntactic patterns that merit systematic linguistic analysis. This presentation investigates the morphosyntactic structures of DoggoLingo in order to determine whether its forms constitute a coherent and partially rule-governed system rather than arbitrary language play.

The morphological analysis focuses on productive word-formation processes, including affixation and non-standard plural formation, diminutive constructions, and innovative verb creation. The syntactic analysis examines simplified clause structures, copula omission, unconventional determiner usage, atypical adjective-noun order, and formulaic constructions such as doin me a and much + adjective/noun.

The findings demonstrate that DoggoLingo negotiates conventional grammar while establishing a playful, socially meaningful register that reinforces group identity. This presentation contributes to broader discussions on digital language innovation, the dynamics of micro-registers in online communities, and the interplay between morphology and syntax in emergent linguistic practices.

Zapraszamy serdecznie do wspólnego rozkminiania!
